Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width consisting of a shield blazoned as follows: Azure (Dark Blue), an equilateral triangle Vert surmounted by a lightning bolt in bend sinister throughout Or, in dexter chief a mullet of the last, all within a bordure Or. Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Green tripartite scroll inscribed "COURAGEOUS AND VERSATILE" in Gold.

Symbolism
The dark blue background is the color traditionally associated with Infantry units and yellow with the Armor units, the two branches that form the 1st Combined Arms Battalion. The border represents the distinction of the Future Combat Systems. The equilateral triangle denotes success with the changes in the armored force. The lightning bolt symbolizes speed of the Battalion to accomplish each mission. The star signifies the "Lone Star" of Texas, where the unit was originally formed.
